Monthly Spotlight On

Each month there will be a 'Spotlight' on each of the Ci team. System Executive Amy Wilde gets the Monthly Spotlight treatment next. Amy is 27 years old and joined the company in March 2006.

  • Previous job role: Trainee Research Executive here at Ci.
  • A description of myself in three words: I'm a Scorpio.
  • If I hadn’t been in market research… I’d like to think I’d be doing something creative...
  • Hobbies: Photography, watching films, catching up with friends.
  • The best thing about our industry / working in research… Collecting bits of information on lots of interesting topics.
  • The worst thing about our industry / working in research... Collecting bits of information on lots of “interesting” topics.
  • Favourite holiday destination (and why): Anywhere hot, I’m not into skiing or snowy holidays. I’d say Cornwall if there was a heat wave.
  • Favourite music: I like a lot and hate a lot too. I’m a big indie/rock lover, but my feet will start to tap to anything cheesy and I love a good power ballad.
  • Favourite food / drink: I love Asian food, but nothing beats a really good comforting roast.
  • Favourite TV programme: I think my favourite at the moment is Grey's Anatomy, I have also been totally sucked in by Lost and, like it or not, I have to find out what happens in the end!
  • Favourite film: That’s a toughie, it all depends when you ask; today I’d say my top five are (in no particular order): Almost Famous, The Last Samurai, Batman Begins, Top Gun and Pulp Fiction. Nothing too girly and definitely no horror!
  • My earliest childhood memory: A monkey sitting on my mum’s head in Gibraltar, she just kept shrieking “I hope it has a clean bum”!
  • The brand I most admire (other than Ci of course!): Nintendo. I think games consoles are being blamed a bit for the kids of today being less active than they used to be, spending hours in front of the TV playing games. I think they have come up with a really good solution with the Wii; although kids are still indoors, they are at least a bit more active and money is still being spent on Nintendo products. Genius!
  • The best advice I've ever received: Look both ways before you cross the road.
  • Ambition to have achieved by 2020: To have travelled along Highway 1 in America from LA to San Francisco.
  • The future of market research is… Being in the Systems Hub I think focus will be heading online, whether it be focus groups, discussion forums, blog sites, or surveys. Results will be quicker and easier to collect and distribute.
